Pharmacy is one of health-care profession that links the health sciences with the chemical sciences and at the same time to ensure the safety and effectiveness of medicine utilization.

Pharmacy students are required to learn and acquire adequate knowledge and skills to practice the profession of pharmacy including exhaustive knowledge of synthesis and assay of medicinal agents, mode of action, drug interactions, patients counseling and professional information exchange with physicians and other paramedics. Pharmacy students are required to acquire an in depth knowledge of formulation, storage and analysis of various pharmaceutical dosage forms including herbal medicines required for both large scale commercial production and research. The pharmacist should act a bridge between physicians and patients and strive for better healthcare.

SCOPE AND PROSPECTS

The healthcare sector has witnessed rapid development in recent years. Hence the opportunities are immense for pharmacy students to join multinational drug companies, research units, large hospitals or even become self employed by starting a pharmacy outlet.

Eligibility criteria for admission to D. Pharmacy Course

• Age of 17 years or more on 31st December of the year of the admission.
• 10+2 pass with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/ Biology, and English as one of the subjects
